Several years ago a new Indy comic debuted from Ronin Studios call The Venger Dead Man Rising. It was a noir filled comic book experience that ended with a bang and left you wanting more. Fans waited and then waited some more and finally now issue 2 has arrived.

“That’s right, the years-in-the-making second issue is now available for purchase from Indyplanet. Thanks to all you guys for the support and patience. Picking up right where the last issue left off this new adventure looks to pack all the excitement and energy you would expect from a new Venger story. Because even though this title was on hiatus the character Venger has made several appearances over the years. From Venger/ Footpath to Venger Sins and Secrets, he has been making the rounds but now he finds himself back in his own title and at first glance all things look promising.

Battling Yank is the newest backup feature in Adam Zero comics. He is taking over the spot for the next two issues following up where the Black Heron left off. Though the Heron isn’t done either he will be making a return down the line. Yank may sound familiar to some as he is a play on the public domain character Fighting Yank. Though this Yank is actually his grandson and a just returning gulf war veteran.

With artwork from Josh Mills this patriotic hero will straddle the line trying to learn what it means to be a superhero in a world at war. With his first two appearances already completed the creative team is hard at work crafting another story for this flag draped crime fighter. “There is just something about patriotic heroes I’ve always enjoyed.” Says writer Marc Fletcher. “From Captain America to SuperPatriot, I just love them. I also liked the idea of taking a character like Fighting Yank who has a history behind him and peeling it back to make it fit a little better with our world. While also respecting the source material.”

The original Fighting Yank was a superhero during the height of World War 2 nd was granted his superpowers by his patriot ancestors ghost and donning his cloak and tricorner hat. After the war when superhero comics were no longer selling as well the title was discontinued and eventually fell into the public domain. Numerous companies have used Yank since that time and now he is getting the treament in Adam Zero comics.

“We’ve got some really fun stuff planned for Battling Yank. I can’t wait for you guys to see it.”

Marshal Tyme is now being featured as a webcomic over at Rayguns & Sixshooters. Be sure to check out his continuing adventures as he battles dinosaurs, robots and time traveling Nazi’s. Tyme, will also be returning in the backup feature of the new Adam Zero issues after the Battling Yank finishes his run. With all new stories by Anthony Lee and Barri Lang, he’ll be fighting new villains and even a few returning foes. It also looks like we’ll be seeing Marshal Tyme in an upcoming edition of Raygun Press Starring as the lead feature. More details on that should be coming along soon.

The long awaited return of Adam Zero is on the horizon. After several false starts and several printer mishaps we’ve been told that issue 5 of Adam Zero should be rolling on the printers any day now. Once issue 5 is on the shelves we’ll quickly see two more issues right behind it that will lead us into the new story arc for Adam.
